FIRST TERM
Module 1: Cell Biology
· Relate the structural features of
eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells to their function
· Review cellular diversity
· Explain the growth and development of
cells
· Review the growth of cells in culture
Module 2: Human Physiology
· Relate the structure of specialised cells to the function
· Describe the process of communication between distinct tissues and
organs
· Describe the components of homeostatic control systems
· Discuss the co-ordinated activity of organ systems in the maintenance
of a constant internal environment
SECOND TERM
Module 3: Anatomy
· Know the structure and function of the skeletal system
· Know the structure and function of the muscular system
· Know the structure and function of the cardiovascular system
· Know the structure and function of the respiratory system.
Module 4: Biochemistry
· Apply chemical principles to the structure of biological building block
molecules
· Use building block molecules to derive the structure of biological
macromolecules and
relate macromolecular structure to biological function
· Explain features of and links between some major metabolic pathways
· Acquire a range of biochemical practical skills and cognate
techniques.

v Candidates registering for the course shall receive as
follows:
i. First week after
registration: Module 1 & 2 with assignments
ii. First week of 2nd
term: Module 3 & 4 with assignments
*It is necessary for the candidates to submit their
assignments before they start the next term of studies
v Candidates can buy cupping apparatus any time before they
start the fourth term
v Candidates with experience in the field of medicine are exempted
from first two terms and are eligible to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 10,000/= for the course.
